We use very few of these, and none of them read your email. Strictly necessary cookies keep you signed in and the app working. Everything else is off until you turn it on, and you can change your answer at any time.
| Category | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Your sign-in session, two-factor and trusted-device status, security and anti-abuse protection, and your saved preferences such as theme, folder layout and swipe actions. The app cannot function without these, so they are not optional. | Always on |
| Product analytics | Which features are used and where errors occur, so we can fix and improve them. Aggregated, and never message content. | Off until you allow it |
| Offers and promotions | Lets us choose which Compendium products and partner offers to show you on the free tier, and measure whether they were useful. Based on your relationship with Compendium — never on the contents of your mail — and advertisers never receive your details. | Off until you allow it |
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
c365.sid | Your signed-in session | Session / up to 45 days if you choose to stay signed in |
c365trust | Remembers a device you marked trusted, so two-factor is not re-asked | 45 days |
c365anon | A random id with no personal information in it, so a choice you make before signing up can be matched to your account afterwards | 13 months |
c365consent | Your cookie choices, stored in the browser so we can honour them immediately | Until you change or clear it |
| App preferences (local storage) | Theme, folder tree state, reading-pane layout, swipe actions, cached message list for instant loading | Until you clear them |
Use the button above, or open Settings → Privacy & cookies in the app. Turning a category off stops that use straight away. You can also clear cookies in your browser, though that will sign you out and reset your preferences. If we materially change this policy we will raise the version number and ask again.
